June 2015 stands as a testimony to this spirit as we conducted 100 pediatric cardiac surgeries in a month. This comes at a time when Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani also crosses an important milestone of conducting over 1000 cardiac surgeries. All totally Free of Cost. While we are humbled to witness the number of lives being touched, we also recognize the increased responsibility this puts on us to strive more in the days ahead. Along this beautiful journey of holistic child heart care, we at Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital were humbled to receive the "Dhanwantri Samman Award 2015" - instituted by the Premier Media Channel IBC 24, for being 'The Best Hospital' in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. The Center for Child Heart Care witnessed its first international institutional collaboration with Healing Little Hearts, UK - a charity organization, which had a senior pediatric cardiac ICU team spend a week with our team to enable mutual sharing and learning. While the world celebrated International Yoga Day, we were blessed to experience that oneness with patient attendants at the hospital. We also share with you the joy we experienced on seeing 1.5 yr old Medhavi Sharma, who came for her annual review. It was truly moving to see her journey from illness to life. It means the world to us. -- Your Sai Sanjeevani Team Our Work Surgeries We at Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital are pleased to share with you the milestone reached in completing 1000 cardiac surgeries. 100 paediatric cardiac surgeries were conducted in June 2015, the highest done by the Hospital in any month. 1077 surgeries have been conducted in Sai Sanjeevani so far. Of these, 852 were paediatric cardiac surgeries, with children from all over the country and five other countries. Out-Patient Services 468 outpatient registrations were recorded during the month - 303 new pediatric cases, 156 revisit pediatric cases and 9 adult cases. Out of a total of 645 ECHOs performed this month, 303 are new pediatric cases as shown in the table below. Also 186 post-operative inpatient screenings and 156 revisit and medical follow up ECHOs were performed. <https://gallery.mailchimp.com/169cdb9d063d93b0d2f8cb5f5/images/2bd33568-37cb-4dfc-8254-e18efac92bc4.jpg> All Services are rendered Totally Free of Charge 1000th Heart Touched Priya Dewangan, 5 yrs, Chhattisgarh 5 year old Priya Dewangan, became very special for all of us at Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani for being the 1000th heart to give us an opportunity to serve. Her parents went through a tough journey of knowing that their child had a heart ailment since her 2nd month of birth, but not being able to have her operated due to the high cost of treating a congenital heart condition. They were constantly on the lookout for a way out. During these 4 years, they spent many helpless nights just watching their child suffer with chest infections for which they knew they had no answer. It was in March this year, when a family friend from Raipur visited them and told them about Sai Sanjeevani. They immediately brought Priya to Sai Sanjeevani where she was diagnosed with a large Patent Ductus Arteriosus. She underwent double ligation and clipping of PDA on 9th June 2015. She was stable post operatively and was discharged on 15th June 2015 in a haemodynamically stable condition. “हमें पता नहीं था कि हमारी बेटी का क्या होगा | लेकिन यहाँ पे हमने देखा कि भगवन हैं और इसीलिए हमारी बेटी ठीक हो गई |” "We had no idea what the fate of our daughter was. The International Yoga Day gave all of us at Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital an opportunity to experience the potential of love, of inner communion, of yoga with the patient attendants. We conducted a one hour Yoga Session on 21st June in our campus, acknowledging International Day for Yoga. We witnessed enthusiastic participation from patient attendants, nursing Staff and some support staff members. This session was conducted by Dr.Vikram Bharitiya, a Naturo therapist and certified Yoga teacher. In the News . . . She was operated at Sai Sanjeevani an year back on June 6th 2014. >From weakness to strength, from illness to life, she has covered a beautiful journey in this one year :-) This is how our Pediatric Cardiologist, Dr Yogesh Sathe, expressed his happiness on seeing Medhavi after an year : "1.5 yr old little Medhavi visited us this month for her annual review. I could not recognize her as she had grown to become a beautiful 7 kg tall girl from her previous 1.5 kg tiny structure. Even as I examined her, I was witnessing just how effective the surgery had been.
