The Sri Sathya Sai Mobile Medicare project on 16th July, 2015, inaugurated
their 43rd Mobile Van. (Van No MH.43.5652), The puja was performed at
Dharmakshetra on Thursday 16th July, 2015 by the State President of Maharashtra
& Goa, Shri Ramesh Sawant and office bearers. As per the statistic updated on
31st March, 2015, the project has, with Bhagawan's Blessings, reached out to
over 30.82 lakh patients since inception. Approximately 32.50 lakh patients
have been covered upto 30th June, 2015. The SSSSO Organisation Maharashtra &
Goa is gearing up for the Maha Medical Service from 23rd August, 2015 for the
Kumbha Mela in Nasik and likely to service over 5 lakhs patients.

Kumbha Mela is a mass piligrmage of faith and is considered to be the largest
peaceful temporary gathering in the world. Every three years, Kumbha Mela is
held by rotation in India in Haridwar, Allahabad, Nashik and Ujjain. Then there
are the Ardha Kumbha Melas at Haridwar and Allahabad, every six years, the
Purna Kumbha Mela held only at Allahabad every 12 years. The last Kumbha Mela
at Nashik in the 12-year cycle was held in 2003. As such, the ensuing Kumbha
Mela will be held there during July 2015 to September 2015. It is expected that
over 1 crore pilgrims would participate in the Mela. People from across the
globe also visit the Mela. It is now a location for great documentaries,
including National Geographic channel and other channels.

On an average Over 45000 plus patients are receiving treatment every month for
a wide variety of diseases including hypertension, diabetes, allergies,
digestive, respiratory, gynaec and other ailments. The mobile dispensaries are
fully equipped with a range of medicines and equipments for diagnosis and
treatment of patients. The medical vans are the most viable alternative in
terms of cost, time and manpower resources, to reach out to distant and also
remote areas. Instead of resting at this goalpost, the SSSSO Organisation
Maharashtra & Goa continues wholeheartedly to this seva of taking Bhagawan's
love to the masses, by undertaking many innovative methods.

Nashik is the venue for the next Kumbha Mela 2015 which will be held on the
banks of river Godavari. Kumbha Mela in Nashik happens after a period of 12
years. As per the survey conducted by the government, around over 1 crore
pilgrims are expected to arrive and take holy bath in the river Godavari to
cleanse their body and souls. The Kumbha Mela is scheduled from 14/7/2015 to
26/9/2015, with the Shahi Snans (holy bath).

In conclusion, students echoed in unison, calling Sathya Sai as an experience,
Whose legacy would last through His teachings. A beautiful group song of unity

<http://media.radiosai.org/www/Telugu.html> When God grants - Three stories on
God's giving

<http://media.radiosai.org/www/Telugu.html> There is a reason why the greatest
truths in life are communicated via stories. Stories are lapped up easily. They
remain in one's subconscious even if one is unable to appreciate the lessons or
insights they offer. And they come to mind at the perfect time, when one is in
need of exactly those insights! So, when it comes to the question of how to
make God grant us the wishes we seek, I am reminded of three stories. Actually,
two of them are anecdotes and one is a story, all of them related to my Lord,
Master and best friend, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

 <http://media.radiosai.org/www/Telugu.html>

 <http://media.radiosai.org/www/Telugu.html>

<http://media.radiosai.org/www/Telugu.html> 1. Whatever you seek of God is
lesser than what He wishes to confer

<http://media.radiosai.org/www/Telugu.html> When I was in my fifth standard, I
got so enamoured by Swami’s darshan that I decided something very different. I
told my father,
“For this birthday, I do not want any birthday party. Just like you do, I want
to shoot pictures of Swami with a camera.”

<http://media.radiosai.org/www/Telugu.html> My dad smiled. He had noticed my
desire for photography even as he took Swami’s pictures in Whitefield. He had,
in fact, already procured a camera! He gifted me the 35mm, fixed focus, Yashica
camera and said,
“Why wait till your birthday? You can take photos when we go next for darshan
in Brindavan!”
I was so thrilled and thus began my beautiful journey with the camera.

Fast forward about 7 years. I joined Swami’s school and realized that I would
get an opportunity to get physically close to Swami like never before. I was
thrilled at the prospects that held for my photography. But I only had a 35mm,
fixed-focus camera. I wished that I had a better one and since my birthday fell
right in the beginning of the academic year, I thought it was time to seek
another gift from my father.

“Dad! Here is what I want for my birthday...”
“My son. I have a plan...”
“No!”, I cut him short, “please buy me a camera with a zoom so that I can take
better pictures of Swami. Please!”

I got a new camera in a month. It had a small built-in zoom that ‘brought Swami
closer’ to me. Still, it was not close enough. Once the film rolls were
developed and the photos were out, my mother put a dampener on me,
“None of your photos are as good as the photos your dad has taken!”
I felt hurt and insulted. I retorted,
“That is because I don’t have a camera like him!”
Hot tears were almost making their way down my cheeks.

My father smiled. He placed a bag on my lap and from that, pulled out a new
Nikon F90, SLR camera with a 200 mm Tamron lens. He told me to shoot with that.
I felt so happy. And then he said,
“I planned to gift it to you. But you wanted a camera with a small in-built
zoom!”

I have never asked my father for cameras after that. As and when I grew up in
photography, my equipment has been automatically upgraded. Today, I boast of
some of the best Nikon cameras and lenses. They are the ones that were
instrumental in helping me become Swami's personal photographer as chronicled
in Capturing Divinity.

 <http://media.radiosai.org/www/Telugu.html>

<http://media.radiosai.org/www/Telugu.html> One of the first few pictures of
Swami that I clicked with a 35mm
fixed focus camera.

<http://media.radiosai.org/www/Telugu.html> What holds good for my father
holds good in an even greater sense for the heavenly father.

 <http://media.radiosai.org/www/Telugu.html> Swami says,

<http://media.radiosai.org/www/Telugu.html> “Do not ask for anything. Anything
that you wish to seek from me is far lesser than what I wish to gift you.”

 <http://media.radiosai.org/www/Telugu.html>

<http://media.radiosai.org/www/Telugu.html> And the difference is often
greater than that between a 35mm, fixed-focus Yashica camera and a Nikon F90
with a 28-200 mm zoom lens!

 <http://media.radiosai.org/www/Telugu.html>

 <http://media.radiosai.org/www/Telugu.html>

 <http://media.radiosai.org/www/Telugu.html> 2. Anything that God's confers is
His prasadam

<http://media.radiosai.org/www/Telugu.html> One day, during the darshan, I was
sitting near the Primary school children. Those were beautiful times when Swami
would come and interact with the kids in between the darshan and bhajan
sessions. I keep repeating one episode in my mind many times over. I don’t know
if I have shared it before but anyway, here goes.

Swami calls one of these kids and asks him, “Where is your brother?” He turns
around and points to another kid. Swami then tells him, “Ay! All are brothers!”
The kid has a sheepish smile.
Then Swami continues, “Where is sister?” The kid nods his head and says in a
squeaky voice, “Swami! No sisters!”
“Ay! All are sisters” and Swami gives him a gentle pat on his cheek. The kid
nods and is returning to his place when Swami calls out to him again.
This time the question is, “Where is wife?”
And the kid, in all innocence, narrows his eyes and asks, “All are wife?”
There is such a burst of laughter......

On another occasion, Swami is speaking about how high the expenditure of the
Senior boys hostel has been in comparison to the Primary school hostel. Even as
He is speaking thus, we are all thinking, “C’mon Swami! The hostel fees for
both is Rs.7000. Senior boys naturally eat much more than the kids!” But Swami
continues to tease and says that nobody knows to manage anything as well as the
teachers and staff from Primary school. One of the students gathers courage and
says,
“Swami, the little children eat less.”
“How many idlis do you eat?”, the question comes in a snap.
“Swami, four idlis...”
Swami now moves towards the Primary school children and calls out for one roly
poly kid. He gets him to the Institute students and asks,
“How many idlis did you eat today?” (It happened to be idlis for breakfast that
day!)
“Swami five...”
“See! They eat more but they manage better,” Swami concludes and nobody opens
their mouth!

Coming back to the main story before I get lost in these memories....

Swami comes out on that day and begins to interact with the tiny tots. In the
process, He calls one of them and materializes vibhuti for him. He calls
another kid and materializes a gold chain for him. After a few minutes, Swami
goes back into the interview room. This was the period that all of us would
start whispering and talking. Nobody dared talk in His presence. Swami would
not tolerate even a bit of indiscipline. Many have been the instances when He
would look stealthily from the interview room windows and catch the culprits
who were talking! And when the interview room door opened, only a few students
would be able to see that. A signalling mechanism through finger-snapping would
alert everyone of His presence and a quiet would descend all through! Ah! How
powerful are the memories!

Well, as Swami went in, I began chatting with the kid next to me. In course of
the conversation, I asked him,
“What is more valuable? The vibhuti that Swami materializes or the chain that
He materializes?”
The kid who was chattering non-stop till then became silent. He had a confused
look, and I, had a bemused one. I was enjoying this now.
“Swami is giving the vibhuti right...?” was his question.
“Yes! I told you that.”
“Swami is giving the chain?”
“Yes! Listen, I am asking you which one would you prefer? Which is more
valuable?”
These kids sometimes are so dumb.

“What is the difference then”, he continued, “Swami is giving both. So both are
equally valuable.”
His answer was so simple and he looked at me thinking that elders could be so
dumb sometimes! While I had the question because I focused on the objects, he
had the answer because he had focused on Swami!

There is no difference between anything that Swami bestows. It is all His
prasadam (gift).

<http://media.radiosai.org/www/Telugu.html> There is no difference between
pleasure and pain, loss and gain for they are all God’s gifts to us. That is
the reality though the gold chain appears more valuable than the ash. It is all
a matter of perspective and what we choose to focus on.

 <http://media.radiosai.org/www/Telugu.html>
3. Seek from God alone

This is a story I heard in a discourse and Swami narrated it in great gusto. He
spoke about a wandering fakir that went to meet an emperor. He wanted to seek
wealth and riches so that his life could get better. The guards, out of respect
for the fakir, let him in to meet the emperor. The emperor was in prayer. The
fakir heard him praying,
“Lord! Grant me armies to become the most powerful ruler. Let there be
never-ending riches in my kingdom. Let my granaries be full and let the horses
and elephants in the stables be healthy...”

As the emperor concluded his prayer, he saw that the fakir who had come to meet
him was walking away. He called out to him, stopped him and asked him the
reason for his strange behavior. The fakir replied,
“I came to seek from you. But then I realized that I am a beggar seeking from
another beggar! I shall seek directly from the Lord!” And he walked away.

Swami concluded, “If at all you wish to seek, seek only from the Lord.
Experience His bounty and grace directly. Why do you beg others and seek from
others?”

 <http://media.radiosai.org/www/Telugu.html>

<http://media.radiosai.org/www/Telugu.html> If you HAVE to beg, beg from God
and God alone!

<http://media.radiosai.org/www/Telugu.html> In that same light, I want to
narrate another story. This was not in the original plan but well, it has to be
in the ORIGINAL plan I guess! :)

This is a story I read in a book. I think it was Anthony De Mello’s, One Minute
Wisdom. I do not remember the exact details of the story but I simply cannot
forget the spirit of the same.

A man visited a so-called realized master. This master was supposed to be the
disciple of the grandson of the greatest disciple of a great Master that lived
100 years ago. She claimed to have great powers for had she not descended from
in a way from the great Master? She claimed to have the Masters visions and
herded devotees to herself.

One day, a devotee of the great Master called all the others for a banquet.
When they were seated, he began to serve soup. As the guests supped at the
soup, they were disgusted and they remarked, “This is nothing but plain water!”

“How can that be”, the host questioned, “it has been derived from the soup that
was made from the broth that had its origins in the magnificent soup that I had
made the day before!”

“You fool, “ they chorused at once, “you should make the soup again. How can
you ever expect a dilution to match your original creation?”
“You are the fools - seeking dilution! Seek the Master directly instead of
running behind such dilutions. Is not the Master capable of answering you
directly?

<http://media.radiosai.org/www/Telugu.html> Choose wisely and do not choose
the easy path!”

<http://media.radiosai.org/www/Telugu.html> What is the deepest significance
of a well-lived human life? Our loving Master shows us the way.

 <http://media.radiosai.org/www/Telugu.html>

<http://media.radiosai.org/www/Telugu.html> It is meaningless to be born as a
human being and lead an animal existence. Everyone should live up to the motto
- ‘Help ever - hurt never.’ Every educated person should engage oneself in
selfless service to the society, with humility and a pure heart. All academic
distinctions or even observance of spiritual practic...es are of little use if
there is no love in the heart. The heart is called “Hridaya” in Sanskrit. This
term is made up of the two words, ‘Hri’ and ‘Daya’ (compassion). The Lord is
described as Hridyavasi (the Indweller in the heart). Love and Compassion are
inherent in every person. Every being must share their love with others
selflessly. Failure to share one's love is gross ingratitude to society, to
which one owes everything. One should give one's love freely to others and
receive love in return. This is the deep significance of human life.

 <http://media.radiosai.org/www/Telugu.html>

<http://media.radiosai.org/www/Telugu.html> What is the cause for
unrighteousness to take root in our society and what is the solution? Bhagawan
explains and guides us today.

 <http://media.radiosai.org/www/Telugu.html>

<http://media.radiosai.org/www/Telugu.html> Police and law-makers can defeat
only external foes; they have no power to destroy internal enemies. They will
find the task impossible, for they are not the authorities for that. The
internal foes, six enemies (arishadvarga) that operate within a person, can be
uprooted only with the teachings of great saints, love for God, and the company
of the noble and holy. The world suffers harm at the hands of wicked people
when the law-makers responsible for apprehending thieves themselves become
entangled with them. Equally, the world becomes enveloped in darker ignorance
when righteousness (dharma) is destroyed and those contemplating on the Brahman
incessantly and the ‘great’ spiritual aspirants give up the path of well-being
of the world and become victims of sense enjoyment or ambition to earn name and
fame. Then suffering will increase every single day. The whole world will bask
in peace and joy only when everyone — leaders of countries and spiritual
aspirants alike — realize the righteous path and ponder the omnipotence of the
Lord.
