Saligao Sporting ahead NT NETWORK Posted on 2009-03-27 MAPUSA- Saligao Sporting Club survived some hiccups to overcome Arpora Sporting 6-5 via tie-breaker and confirm their entry into the quarters of Nagoa-Arpora-Baga Panchayat Cup, organised by Nagoa Sporting Club at Salt Lake grounds, Arpora, today.
The score at full time read 1-1, which forced the penalties to come into play wherein Saligao scored through Uday, Jose, Allen, Joseph and Nagendra while Gary, German, Pramod and Manoj netted for Arpora. Rajesh's attempt was blocked by Saligao keeper Lawrence Trinidade. During match time, Saligao were the ones to take the lead in the 15th minute of play through Joseph Monteiro which seemed sufficient for a victory.
