Yeh Ashley, There was a school in Saligao as mentioned in one of the postings. ... but Latin????
Mater Dei Institution - as it was known then where my dad & his bother studied for a while & one uncle taught there too before he made his way to Africa as many Saliganvkars did. I am sure there are others who will remember the rest. Matriculation it was called, & schools were affiliated to Bombay University but before the Goa Board came into being around 1975-76, they were affiliated to Poona Board - at least I know that because it says so on my Certificate...that was when we studied 11 + 4 rather than 10 + 2 + 3.
