I wonder if the Saligao people ever remember “Ilitair”. He too was quite
famous as far as catching pigs was concerned and his story is similar to what
Daniel has mentioned about Alsulo. I have not seen him or met for a long time.
I think his son sells meat at the Tinto. Please correct me if I am wrong.

If Fr N. was on the list, we would have got a longer story :-)

But I believe Daniel is referring to Alexio (whom everyone used to know as
Alsulo). FN

Albert i really appreciate your sense of sporting spirit!

BTW talking abt crying pigs it reminds me of 'Poppy' (I can't remember his
actual name) from Saligao who used to take pigs for slaughter. Their last
journey to the slaughter house was on his cycle...and they would cry all along
the road attracting everybody's attention. This is exactly what Albert wants to
highlight. On the eve of church or chapel feast Poppy would carry two pigs at a
time on his cycle...one tied to the cycle bracket behind and the other hanging
on the cross bar. Oh what a scene it was! Those were the days my
friends......we.......

I wonder if Poppy is still around carrying out his trade....and selling pork
meat at the Saligao market.
