Once upon a time, Saligao was pominently mentioned for its participation in the mando festivals. I recall the role of persons like my neighbour (Richard/Nicholas/Fidelis's dad) Tertuliano Sequeira and his entire family, the former sarpanch (ex-Burma) Jose Cordeiro, and others... also the Lourdes Convent! If someone takes this dream forward, maybe it could be revived... there's a whole lot of interest in the mando in recent years at Panjim, unlike the situation a decade or so ago...
