Hi Albert and Denis, Really sorry to hear this news! I knew Rosette and her sister Jeanette in the Saligao of the 1970s. Everyone knew everyone else in the village then (I guess my daughter would say the same of her generation now!) How fast time flies!
I would run into Jeanette and Rosette's mum, A. Natty, not too long ago when I walked by her home with the kids, or on our cycle/tricycle rides. In our younger days, I recall their home very distinctly, because (they had just built it on return from Africa, if not mistaken) it was brightly coloured, and to us kids looked almost like a giant ice-cream. It had some vertical stripe on it! If I'm not wrong A. Natty was the sister of Fr Francis John sj (Fanchu). I ran into Fr John at the Nerul church, a year or two ago, and I was surprised that after all these years, I had failed to recognise him, but he did not! In my religious days, I used to be one of his devoted altar boys! About Rosette, it's sad. She must have been in her 50s! Not a time to go, given life expectancy these days. But that's life.... Is their brother Joe still in Goa? I met him not too long back. If not mistaken again, there's a photo of Jeanette and/or Rosette in one of the old Lourdes Convent photos online somewhere, in their school days.
