In this regard on Monday 22nd March GOACAN is organising a public program at the Mapusa Municipal Hall, Mapusa from 3.30pm to 6pm to observe the World Water Day. The speakers for the meeting will include Mr. Rajendra Kerkar, environmental activist who will speak on linkages of water conservation & quality, Mining related pollution and the protection of the Mhadei river. Mr. Miguel Braganza, Additional Director, Organic Farming Association of India (OFAI) will speak on the Water, Agriculture & Food Security. Mr. Joseph Vaz, Secretary Navelim Civic & Consumer Forum will speak on the linkages of River Sal & Saipem lake pollution, failure of sewerage treatment in Housing Societies and consumer action.
