Oh goodness gracious....the saligaonet is full of discussion on dog-bite, the laws to deal with them, the precautions and the injections need to be taken in case the dog is a rabid one. And if i can recall correctly it all began with a harmless Question on Laws in Goa on dog bites.
But can anyone on this group deny the fact that the 'dog is man's best friend'? So why worry so much abt the neighbour's dog and its bite? If all agree, i think we should leave the dogs alone....or better just let the dogs out! It's feast time....and one can't forget the sorpotel, san'nas and hot bhajas and hard jaggery candy (Khott'Khottem) sold at the stalls during the Salves. And that also reminds me of the locally made cold drinks sold with the local soda (the one with the marble) and what a sound it would make when the vendor would forcibly push the marble down the narrow bottle neck with his bare index finger!.....amazing to say the least.....it was a ear-drum splitting sound....TTchchiummmmm or something to that effect. I am talking of the beautiful seventies....and early eighties to be precise. And before i sign off talking abt dogs that reminds me of a mild dog bite i once had when i visited the Vet Merilyn Estibeiro with my pet dog at her clinic in Porvorim a few years back. It was a frightful incident i will never forget when i was chased by her two dobermans, but believe me I did make it safely sprinting to the exit gate in time. Shall narrate it sometime.
