Hi SaligaoNetters!

Yeh yeh! long time.... no type! no hear! But have been reading the few
postings appearing on & off! No news as such & no energy to think either
...brains are melting with the heat....

Grand-daughter of Saligao eh? Lady of varied talents.....the article made
interesting reading (thanks Dilip) especially as I havent kept in touch with
these relatives in years, probably since the demise of Nadia's grandparents. It
has been years since I met Venetia & Rowena!

So to whom does Nadia belong?....Venetia or Rowena? I recall seeing a picture
of one little girl a long time ago when the doting grandparents took pleasure
in showing us snaps whenever we visited.

Guess all Netters around the world are enjoying their own particular brand of
weather! I am definitely not enjoying ours.

Have a good day! it is our weekend once again...to be spent in airconditioned
rooms of course!

Ta ra

Annette

I chanced upon the following whilst surfing (in Birmingham).

"Nadia Chaney is a poet, writer and arts-based empowerment facilitator focusing
on issues of identity, diversity, participatory process and non-violence. Her
workshops have reached many communities, from Portland OR to Cortez Island, BC
to Johannesburg, South Africa. She has worked with youth in detention, rehab,
on probation, in foster care, in US “failing schools," in local community
centers, at camps, at conferences, and at almost every school in the BC Lower
Mainland. She was named one of BC’s 100 most influential Indo-Canadians in
2008."

Nadia Chaney - an emcee, poet, musician, budding novelist, and multimedia
visual artist who loves to dance and imagine. She brings clarity, compassion,
gentle critical intelligence, exuberant creativity and a solid foundation of
love, non-violence and respect. Her arts empowerment work includes violence
prevention, unity-work, hip hop classes in detention centres, self
care-for-employability programs, a massive car-free volunteer-run festival, and
lots more. Nadia mostly works in collective, non-profit scenarios, but is also
interested in enlightened for-profit work.

She is the late Colonel Edwin's grand-daughter and has had a remarkable career
in the arts.
