Sorry to inform you about the death of Anthony Mascarenhas (b. 1919), ex-Africa, and a popular long-time resident at the Voltar (Sonarbhat).
Uncle Anthony was the husband of the late Peggy Mascarenhas. The father of my schoolmates Basil and Roweena (Veena) and their three elder sisters (Luella, Janice and Marita), he will be remembered by me for his singing, which he did in his baritone voice (if I got that right) till not long back. Till a few months back, U. Anthony would exercise his dogs on the Sonarbhat lane leading to the convent. Today's papers carried a photo of him, in a suit, as I remembered him!
