Lights are back. While we do have a lot of problems, the maintainence quality is improving compared to what it was 10-15 years ago. Of course, we have a lot more way to go.
I recall, when being one of the early ones to get a phone (due to my media work, as I was fulltiming with a Bangalore paper then), we used to have regular day-long, or even week-long, phone failures in those times. Guess that the technology has become more robust over time, and the technicians understand it better too. But, at the end of the day, pressure on the government employees is crucial to ensure they offer a better quality of service. As they get their salary eitherway, they lack a motive for this otherwise.
