Yeh Rico, she would! I too am not overly fond of wet & muck & excess rain which has been the case in Goa this year but here there has been no rain at all. You are right, the kids find it easier to pick up tech.... whatever......sidetracked with checking the numerous mails in my box & replying to some...have aborted mission "transfer from camera to USB"... you make it sound so easy & it did look easy when a friend did it here at home.......will leave it for the weekend.....time to visit the cemetery as at least I will get this mission right,... get the plenary indulgences from 1st to 8th November on doing the needful. Ciao Annette

What I had in mind was building more techie skills in Saligao. Of course, user-level skills are needed too. We should think something about that. Recently, the importance of that was only underlined when Natha Umbrascar (my neighbour) was keen to find out about where paddy-threshing machines were available for sale in India. We found some outlet in Madurai, which imports these from Japan. (Finally, one was brought to the village, thus automating agri operations somewhat. But it was found to be a bit too heavy for the fields with softer mud. Such solutions could make a huge difference to how people live here.) As for transferring photos, it's very easy. Just connect your camera to your computer (USB) with the cable. You will find the camera attached, like a pen drive does, to the computer. Copy-and-paste all the JPG images onto your hard disk. Remove the camera (using the proper, safety procedure). Add the USB drive, and copy to it. Rgds, FN -- This message comes via the Google Groups "Saligao-Net" group.
