Hello Mario!

Well happy women's day to all the women of Saligao!

Mario, I have been following the mails going back and forth regarding the
tower that is being set up in Ashley's family property. I have chosen to
stay out of the email battle, as I see no sense in having a war of words
and emails! This does not give results.

As shared with you and Muriel in the past, I have always mentioned
that approaching the Court is the best and most mature thing to do, *should
some one feel they have a case*. I believe that you and some members who
are opposing the tower, have done so and I am glad. The Judiciary
is definitely more mature then all of us put together and at that forum,
there is no question of being biased.

The reason for writing in, is the email you sent this morning, mentioning
that some teenage woman / girl / kid is volunteering to go on some fast??
and that to a fast unto death??

I have the highest regard for both Muriel and you, since you'll were a part
of the tremendous hard work that was put in to the Pernem Villages in the
early 80's under the leader ship of Fr. Desmond. I am rather shocked that
you are party to promoting a young girl (*who might not even be major of age
*) or for that matter any body, into something called a "Fast unto death"
Do you not have any faith even in our judiciary? I am aware that there are
cases of people falsely influencing judges, etc but that's why we
have appellate courts.

Mario, this is a democracy of the 21st century. We have forums that take up
these matters. Do you even know what the legal consequences are for
promoting a minor into something like a fast? If this is a tactic to get
through to Ashley, his family and / or his associates who are a part of
this project, it is nothing more than shameful. We are the same people who
fight for our rights since we are citizens of a democracy. Please fight for
what you think is right, by using the right channels.

Kindly retrospect the current affairs and how you are handling the matter.

Hoping that better sense prevails.

Keith.
