From the village of Soccoro, comes this response to the picture of the tower that the Delaneys, Cyril and Venas intend to assault the sensibilities of Saligao with, in the architectural heritage areas of Nigvaddo, Abreu Vaddo, Salmona and Arrarim as a whole. But had I been personally involved or affected, I would have been one of the most vociferous objectors to this monstrosity. I dont know the current status of this project. I hope that the powers that be have heeded the voice of the villagers of Saligao to move this eyesore and health hazard to a distant location where it will be less of a hazard and eyesore. Congratulations to the civic spirit of Saligaocars who showed up with candles to protest against this project. I sincerely hope that their voices will be heeded and the will of the people will prevail. Keep up the good work. I have high personal regards for Ashley but feel that in this instance he has been misguided. The will of the people should always be paramount. Arrogance of dictators (though not analogous to this situation) like Libya and Egypt and Yemen and now Syria have shown that you can "fool some of the people some of the time, but not all the people all the time" and eventually the people will prevail.
