Ive heard a lot about my neighbour Alfred but never had the opportunity to meet him - or may be I did just one time at my brother Dick's place in Bandra but cannot clearly remember. By all accounts he was one of our village giants with substantial contributions to Saligao, the environment and Indian Journalism. How I wish I had made a greater effort to sit and talk with the man!
My brother Dick (Naval) met him regularly in Bandra and was always enthralled by his stories and recollections. FN, did we ever discover the truth wrt his public dialogue with Nehru after liberation?
