Although I do not know Diksha nor her family personally, hearty congratulations are most certainly in place for such a hard working, unassuming young girl. Also, the fact that she has achieved so much with so little is highly commendable. Congratulations Diksha, and to your proud family, too! This petite and soft-spoken girl has passed, with flying colors, in the Tenth Standard Board exams, the results of which were declared on 4th June. Diksha has been a top performing student of Lourdes Convent High School since KG. She secured a whopping overall percentage of 91.6% with astounding marks in Math, Science & Social Science. . . . . . . . .95/100, 98/100, 96/100 respectively. Diksha stood first in the entire school of LCHS, the 2nd best being 86%. Her percentage of 91.6% shouldd probably make her the best overall performer in Saligao. Yet for Diksha its just another day, and she goes about her daily routine, as though nothing extra-ordinary has occurred in her life. But a brief chat with this unassuming girl makes it obvious, that she is indeed very brilliant. What makes her feat even more commendable, is that she had to rough it out against many odds. She never had the resources or modern-day facilities available to her. In fact, she does not even have an internet connection or computer at home. She is the daughter of Dattaram & Deepali Aswekar Her father Dattaram has been working for Taj Group of Hotels in Sinquerim for more than 20 years, and presently works at the Front Office. Diksha has enrolled herself at St. Xavier's College in the Science stream, and hopes to get in to medical profession one day. Way to go Diksha !
