Managed to slip off work in AD for a few days, and dash down alone, to my good old village of Saligao. the same place where I grew up in, had some of the best childhood and early Adulthood years in my life, and God willing, hope to settle down in Retirement too. Surely, Indias and Saligao's only major woe is that it has gotten crowded with People and worse still, with vehicular Traffic, and their related problems.
Goa is great this time of the year especially after Christmas and New year as most of the Roads have much less Local Indian Tourist Traffic especially on the CHOG-M road, and on the Beach Belt Main road too. Weather is excellent too. Well, I did meet with our friend the Hon. Sarpanch, Mr. Eknath Oraskar, a couple of times. I asked him about the 2 Major Issues about GARBAGE & a PLAYGROUND which I wrote about earler, and continue to concern all living Saliganvkars. Garbage and a Playground. He spoke to me at length about both and I believed him. He seems like a fine young guy whos determined to deliver. We must all support him and pray to God Almighty to make it possible for him to deliver. He's convinced me of his Plans and I feel that he's one who's been sent to deliver, big time, in a long time. Garbage is a Universal Type of Problem he says, is seriously being tackled head on, but on the Playground Issue, he has cautioned me not to divulge details until a certain other very major Hurdle/Procedure is crossed by him, a very important one. I'm sure it will and all his ambitious Plans will all fall in place with ease then. The Good News is that The Playground Site offcourse has already been Zero-ed in upon. So No worries here folks! Yes !!! With very ample 360 Parking all around. God willing I would like to be standing on the sidelines one day (or seated in the Stands!!) , cheering some young kids, if not my own. Believe me So much can happen for Saliganvkars if we only have one large Playground. Fellow Saliganvkars, lets stop dreaming now. We are nearing reality, which is fast approaching !!. Let us support and Pray for this young and able Sarpanch of ours. Having represented my own Village of Saligao in so many competitive Soccer games all over the State, many others too, would understand the importantance of a Playground. We Poor Saliganvkars, We did not have any Playground !! If a Simple village like Sangolda now can have a brand new beautiful Playground right in the Middle of the Fields, why cant we? Please take some time out and see the Miracle for yourselves.!!! Visit the Playground in the Fields. Without a Playground we have produced International Footballers, and now with one, we may also produce good Athletes of all kinds not to mention Walkers, Joggers and so on. Our Special Prayers daily must be for our Sarpanch, to help him Deliver, and also not lose the wafer thin majority he enjoys. Local in-house Panchayat Politics apart.
