Dear SaligaonkarsWaster management can be solved without any difficulty. Are
you serious ? then I will tell you. Ban plastic completely. Ban it in saligao.
Force people to use cloth bags for shopping and the people of saligao should
take a resolution not to touch plastic at all. The remaining waste. I think
most of the saligao people live in houses and have land around their houses.
dig a pit and put all your waste in that and everyday cover it with mud. what
waste will that be ? when one pit is full dig another one. use the matter in
the pit after one year as manure and so please grow vegetables and use that
manure and then see if you have problem with your garbage. We who live in
cities cannot do that as our land belongs to the society in which flats exists.
In saligao what is required is that people should make time for this. let me
hear some comments

Hi Friends, A potter can mend the pot when its soft to
have a good shape before it is put in the furnace or baked, than to realise
latter that very very little can be done of it once harderned after out of
furnice which will cost him heavely or even break the pot which will have no
gains nor profit to him. My hat to the mains brains (………………..)behind to have
this day 24th Feb. 2013 specially for implanting the vision of their future,
the garbage starts right at their footsep, the easy ways to collect directly or
indirectly etc. etc. Specially I thank the parents of all the young children
who said yes to the children and made them walk the steps ofour Village
Pachayat of Saligao to be there for two hours tirelesly. There is no special

make this day and future days to make CLEAN SALIGAO Great Job Friends Dany.

Hi EveryoneCongratulations! Isn't it an achievement to see such a huge crowd
at the Saligao Panchayat hall!!??? Yes it is!!Well done Nazareth (Nazu) for the
tremendous energy and enthusiasm you invested in your presentations. The
children who otherwise get bored of mere talks were seen to be interested and
listening very carefully. Ashley the presentation is cool and the message is
very clear. Thank you. The children are the best who can make a vast difference
as they learn faster then any other fully grown adult, its easier teaching
them. The event for children was a super hit!! At the waste management issue.
The prizes they got have even motivated them further to help us indirectly to
have segregated waste. They have been positively reinforced by the rapid fire
round and prize round.Tarika and Suhail were very interactive while they went
ahead with their practical demonstration of segregation of waste at a very
primary level. The heart and soul of the entire set up our very own Sarpanch
Eknath, has been too supportive and interested for the cause, it would'nt have
been possible at all. I would thank the magician for entertaining all the
people, children especially along with all the adults present at the event. The
overall result was excellent!!!! Congratulations! again to each and every
person responsible for the smooth flow of the event, also to all the waste
management committee members.

Introduction of the tricycles at the event has also helped in their
introduction to the village children and adults before the collection rides
take place. What made the event a remarkable one was the education it imparted
and the elements of fun. Cheers to everyone All the best
