The Salmona Spring in Saligao, has suffered an identical curse bestowed on it by coastal, tourism wastes. The garbage is dumped by the cash-rich Calangute Panchayat, into a huge, empty laterite quarry just above the legendary spring. All the wells in the area have suffered a similar fate. The spring's once medicinal water is today certified unfit for drinking by the Health Services and Pollution Control Board. Sigh! :-( Warm regards and solidarity.
