Few might not know this, but Saligao is home to two schools with a history. Mater Dei is a century old, and one of the first English-medium schools in Goa. Recently, the school saw a fresh blooming, as it offered English-medium primary education (which most other schools shifted over to Konkani under the government policy).
Lourdes Convent is a six decade old school and is growing fast and attracting a number of students from the village and beyond. It is nice to have hard-working schools in the locality, and these are institutions which we need to be proud of.
