Hello A recent experience with a school, made me realise that Principals either do not know or do not want to know about the changes in rules which allows students to choose subjects in lieu of some (current limit is 2) that they cannot handle or have no wish to handle. THose who know are constrained by availability of proper options where testing of student can be done fairly. The options are limited and currently can be done only if parents take a lot of additional trouble. Maybe if the powers that be can be pushed to create the necessary infrstructure we can have more kids getting thru SSC without worrying about math hindi or geography but ill learn something they are more keen on be it art music or business studies.
