i can trust Gerard Delaney when he talks about radiations because I was his friend in St.Xavier's college and he was one of those from the high intelligent sectors along with oscar saldanha and albert Goveia (not me) I was rather surprised why he left his first job and joined teaching profession and of course the first loss is second's gain. He is also a good teacher and a loving friend. Sometimes we are carried away by emotional talks like it happened somewhere in India that led to battle of pannipat. People talk about radiations from mobile towers but what about radiations when we sit hours and hours in front of a computer or tv and when we are glued to mobiles and even sleep with it under our pillow ? I have been staying in Mapuca since 1994 and have one mobile tower just around 200 metres on one side and from my balcony I can see at least dozen mobile towers standing on the terrace just two to four hundred metres. God has protected us and we do not make noise because of those towers communications are better that what it was in 1980. People should analyse, then derrived logical conclusion . In the past we have opposed so many industries just because some said it will cause pollution but never bothered about the pollution caused by mines, and our own vehicles. albert de souza

The same presentation was used again for a much bigger group of villagers in Gladstone Ribeiro Sa's house and as a result the construction of the mobile tower by Dmello Telepower Pvt Ltd in Saligao was forced to stop. When 6 of the leaders had met in my (Gerard Delaney's) house after the Lourdes convent program, I had clearly explained to them how this Prof. Girish Kumar was using his position to create fear in the minds of the public about the radiation and thereby helping his daughter's business of selling meters to measure radiation and shields for it. I had even explained that the average frequency of light is one million times greater than that of microwave radiation. Hence according to the well established laws of Physics, light has energy greater than that of microwave radiation by one million. Thus it is ridiculous to be afraid of microwave radiation and not of visible light radiation which is one million times stronger! However, what transcribed during the meeting, was never released to the general public by the leaders of the agitation. Now a special panel of 13 members set up by the DoT in keeping with the Allahabad High Court's orders, has exposed the misdeeds of the Professor and affirmed that there is no danger to the health from the radiations emitted by mobile towers.
