Apt subject title, Rico!😉 Thanks for information! Happy Easter!
Whether you can get those concerned to shake a leg is a different matter of course. Can always try one's luck eh? Nice alliteration, Dilip! I like😊 ........very apt too. No wonder I couldnt get through to family in Donvaddo & Arrarim to wish them on Sunday - landline was not working. Family was flummoxed! ..they did receive calls & made calls a few hours earlier. I made contact through their mobiles....luckily! This is one problem we dont experience here despite the road works going on 365 days in various areas. Hope you all had a Holy & Happy Easter..... Being a public holiday, there was nobody even to complain to. The Net got alive only after a full day, sometime on Saturday evening. On Sunday, even the voice network (both voice + internet in fact) went dead. Apparently, while doing the road expansion work in the village, someone somewhere cut the underground phone lines. Again! When I rang up BSNL's head office this morning (via the mobile), phone +91-832-2437500, the lady there (the PA to the GM) told me that the fault was with the guys doing the road expansion. Why don't you complain to them, she asked. I pointed out that it was BSNL whom I was paying, and therefore had a right to expect good service. When I visited the BSNL office at the Saligao tinto, they were on the job. Still it took the good part of the day, and the phones came back to life only sometime late Monday evening (after 5 pm). Apparently, they've gone putting about underground phone wires in the village, and nobody knows (or cares) where these are now. The markers for these lines have probably got lost by now! Given that there is a lot of road widening underway, isn't it the job of the telecom people to caution those working on the roads? Hope the panchayat authorities can also intervene in this matter... or should we just watch on as helpless bystanders?
