Thanks for pointing that out, Patsy! I quickly went to Facebook, corrected it, and am sitting back quietly as if no mistake was ever committed ;-) Googlegroups unfortunately isn't that forgiving. Obviously, it will have to be 10.30 am, just before the school breaks for their interval. The only day on which the school is active around close to that time (p.m.) in on Earth Day, sometime in April ask Tarika/Suhail for details, when there's an hour-long candle-lit singsong and speeches. But that too ends at 9.30 pm. Reminds me of your dad and the grand campfires we had as children at LCHS (at one, he lit the bonfire by pushing in a stick after doing the set-up with something inflammable... how impressive it was. Even more so if you're like ten years old). Those were the 1970s, when a whole lot of "Africanders" and others too had returned to Goa, lending all kinds of vibrancy to our villages. By the 1980s and 1990s, many migrated again to other destinations, but that's a story for another day. Also recall one of Scoutmaster Edwin Saldanha's sayings, at the end of a campfire, which still sticks in my mind: "All good things have to come to an end!"
