There have been a couple of rather bad accidents in the village since the last weekend. In the first, apparently two buses were racing each other, as usually happens, one from Betim and the other from Calangute, trying to grab the most number of passengers. This happened on Saturday morning I was told.
Earlier on Tuesday, another gruesome mishap happened on the recently upgraded CHOGM Road and some eyewitness even video-captured and shared details of this mishap. (It has been cross-posted on Saligaonet @ Facebook.) Please be careful everyone. The combination of heavy rains, gusty winds and fast cars is certainly not auspicious! In the second mishap, the man actually lost his life (I was told it was Shiva from Tabravaddo or Mollembhat, in his 40s). The first bus that met with an accident is known to carry schoolchildren regularly! We need to make safety an issue for all. Saligao's lives are precious!
