I thought the (BSNL) Net was back up yesterday itself. But hardly had I posted to SaligaoNet, then it blacked out again!
It stayed down for almost 24 hours and came back online only today (Tuesday evening, almost 5 pm). When I spoke to the BSNL's GM's office in Panjim they said there was a problem in "Saligao, Calangute and other areas". At Saligao, they told me they were waiting for the technical people to come in from Panjim! So I'm keeping fingers crossed hoping the net doesn't go down yet again. (There are private players entering the field, and there were some allegations of internal sabotage attempts to make sure BSNL gets a bad name. I've been a subscriber from 1997, when BSNL launched its net service, and it's said to see its complaints not taken seriously!)
