Just saw my mail today and I'm more than sad about this news. For all their
simplicity, these guys always smiled and greeted you when you passed their
home. As Pat pointed out, Amrut was a polite and accommodating taxi driver.
Ramesh served at Saligao Institute for quite a while, having being appointed by
my Dad when he was secretary. They will sadly be missed. Sincere condolences to
their family and may their souls rest in peace.

Yes, very sad. Amrut was one of our favourite taxi guys (the other being
Monna...closer to our home.) And Ramesh, besides doing all kinds of odd jobs,
also delivered the newspaper at one time if I recall correctly. Nice fellows
both of them. Also remember the sisters very well. I am sure they will be
greatly missed by all, especially their families.

just got the news that the two brothers who lived near the Saligao Institute
Amrut ( who used to drive a taxi before ) expired last week after a brief
illness .Then on Sunday his brother Ramesh ( he worked for the Institute in the
early and mid-eighties ) and now was suffering from Diabetes expired on Sunday
and was cremated yesterday .
