Oops! I made a booboo eh? Our condolences to the entire family of the late Mr. Olfie D'Mello, .... we pray for the repose of his soul. Knew Mr. D'Mello for such a long time as knew Gerard then. What is his actual name? - presume Olfie is a short form of his name. Always connected him as "Dad of Gerard", or "Dad of Sheila" Strange I never knew his name nor surname through the years though spoke to him often..... I bet he is grinning at my stupidity......I did feel that the news on Saligaonet was regarding him but not too sure so didnt say anything though Fiona sent me a mesg that the gentleman (& what a gentleman! - refined, genteel, knowledgeable & always willing to talk irrespective of one's age, so I am pleased that all saw him & knew him & know him as he was meant to be seen & known) had passed away & funeral would be on Thursday. Met Gerard & family two weeks ago outside the Saligao Church. When we made our usual short visit to Stephen's place, Luwell & the family members told me that the gentleman was sick & in bed & wouldnt know who came in but my mind was set. I am glad I entered his room & saw him irrespective of whether he was awake or asleep. It was to have a last look (as I am in Saligao just once a year) at someone whom I had known & respected & spoken to over the years & felt what others have said over this Net now. He had the same familiar face as I remembered him through the years. He had a good innings, & most of us benefited from that in some way or another...May God rest his soul in peace!
