Many many congratulations to Malaika Vaz (PVV family) and wishing her great success in her social impact endeavors.
Last night I received a link to Malaika's TEDex talk from my cousin (and Saligaokar) Basil Fernandez (husband of Nenette of the PVV family). Very very impressive. On watching it, I strongly believe Malaika can, while pursuing her dreams, also be a mentor to our village children. I'm pretty sure none of this would have been possible without the support and encouragement of her parents, Mac and Marusha. I've known Mac to be dedicated and passionate (and soft-spoken), he was my senior in college. In these times of helicopter parents and soccer / tiger moms, here is a shining example of responsible parenting.
