We in  the  Rectory of St. Andrew’s celebrated the feast of the birth of St. John the Baptist in our own way. It was the birthday of Fr. Jean Ruby da Cruz Fernandes who from June1999 to May 2002 was Professor of Saligao Seminary and since June 2002  transferred to S. Andrew, Vasco and is with us and we did the Sam Juanv in our own way with jumps and song by C.Alvares and party. As we said yesterday the song is entitled ‘Sam Juanvcho Dhobazo’.

In Saligao the feast of Sam Juanv is organized as a community event in which  Hindus and majority Christians contribute to make it a joyful celebration of ancient traditions.
