ST. ANNE’S CHAPEL---IV
BENEFACTORS ( CONTINUATUION). In 1926, Mr. Marcal de Souza( Donvaddo) celebrated the feast of St. Anne. On that occasion he offered 2 Images namely that of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary to be placed on both side altars in the transept, with two silver crowns, eight wooden candles sticks, a rich vestment, 19 flower vases of different sizes, four metal candle sticks , a bell and 2 candle stands of three candles each. Mr. Dominic Pereira( Donvaddo) offered a bell placed in the corridor of the Chapel in 1926 to announce the beginning of the service. The warders of Mudd’davaddi offered a wall clock and Mr..Napoleao Vaz( Donvaddo)donated a Monstrance in 1931. Fr.Jose Francisco dos Remedios( Tabravaddo) offered a chalice in 1932 In 1938 Mr. Sebastiao Xavier Mascarenhas( Tabravaddo-Mollebhatt),Mr. Nicolau Francisco dos Remedios( Tabravaddo),Mr. Artur Rozario dos Remedios( Mollembhatt) and Mr. Rozario Machado( Tabravaddo) together, offered a wooden communion rail. The following offered the windows of the corridor in 1938, namely Mr. Santana Caetano de Melo( Mudd’davaddi), Mr. Tito Sebastiao Jose dos Remedios( Tabravaddo). Mr.Rodolfo Napoleao Fernandes( Donvaddo), Mr. Caetano Paulo da Cruz Fernandes ( Mudd’davaddi) and Mr. Francisco Xavier Fernandes. The following offered iron rails for the chapel’s corridor in 1938. They are Mr. Jose Francisco Lobo( Donvaddo), Mr. Caetano Piedade Vaz Mr. Santana Vaz ( both from Donvaddo) and two anonymous donors, while Fr. Paulp Arcanjo Menezes( Chaplain) offered various articles of the altar in cloth. Donations during the year 1939. Mrs. Maria Santana Sidras, widow of Mr. Guilherme Caetano Vaz( Donvaddo) offered two wooden benches. Mr. Antonio S. Monteiro( Mudd’davaddi)offered a door for the corridor. Mr. Roberto Fernandes and Mr. Felipe Fernandes( Raza) from Donvaddo, jointly offered another door. Mr.Vicente Fernandes( Mudd’davaddi) offered a tin-shade to the portico at the entrance of the corridor of the chapel. The Cofre of the Holy Cross of Tabravaddo and Cofre of the Holy Cross of Mollebhatt donated a loft( sobrado) of the corridor of the chapel. The following ‘ capelistas’ donated for the oil painting of the corridor and sacristy: Mr. C.J.Pinto and brothers( Mudd’davaddi), Mr. Pedro Caetano de Melo( Tabravaddo-Mollebhatt), Mr.Jose D’Souza( Donvaddo), Mr. A.J.Fernandes( Muddavaddi), Mr. Alfred N. Coelho( Mollebhatt). Club of St. Anne of Bombay offered a cement rail for the chapel. Mr. E.S.Xavier Rodrigues( Mudd’davaddi) contributed to the cement rail too.
