Spurred on by a family member who was already running two coffee-shop franchises, and liking the idea of being his own boss, Mr. Saldanha became a franchisee in the mid-eighties of what then was a new and little known operation, M&M Meat Shops, and today still owns and runs two outlets near his home in Burlington.
