Friday's newspapers carried the advert of the death of a prominent villager, Col Edwin D'Souza (Khot), whom many would know as the village dentist who practised at Arrarim in the 'seventies, after retiring from the military. Col Edwin was a good man, with a smile on his face, and very good in dealing with patients. Saligaonet offers its condolences to the family. Below is the text of the advert, along with a photograph of the young colonel in military uniform including a smart cap and his decorations visible on the left chest: DEATH: Col Edwin D'Souza (Khot), Arrarim Saligao Expired peacefully at the age of 91 on February 26, 2006.
