Dear Cybergaonkars, The Broadband equipment is installed at the Saligao exchange. After 2 days of testing, connections will start from Monday, 27 March. Right now subscribers have to report to the Commercial Office in Mapusa and pay for the modem and plan of their choice. Phone JTO Santosh @ 2252500 before you make the trip. If you are buying your own modem, you may not have to go in at all. You are not forced to buy the modem BSNL supplies at Rs. 1200/- You could choose the D-Link one (made in Verna, Goa). Alfie D'Souza, Ashley Lobo and we have already bought a D-Link each. Ashley Lobo (one of Saligao's IT gurus) and we contacted their sales department in Verna, made some enquiries and were satisfied with the information we got. All you have to do is contact Ashley Delaney (Saligao's very own D-Link dealer) and order your modem. We have worked out with D-Link a *special price only for Saligao consumers*. Ashley Delaney is also offering free home delivery and a special discount on installation charges. Why did we choose D-Link over the cheaper Chinese/Korean products that BSNL is supplying? *Simply because of after sales service*! Also, we know the D-Link people better - Nitin Kuncolienkar is a Vice President of the company and a Goenkar of integrity and reliability.
