When a kind soul passes on, we are all left with a feeling of regret
and sorrow. While the clock can't be turned back, the least we can do
is to pay a tribute to the memory of the one who has left.

Alfie was a kind soul, and if anyone deserves the many kind words his
friends have said of him, it is he. Thanks to all the Saligaonetters
who have paid their tributes to the memory of this kind human being
and a great soul who was part of our village for the past three odd
decades. We all were priviledged to know him.

You can find a whole set of tributes at http://saligao.goa-india.org/
or at http://saligao.goa-india.org/alfred There's even Alfie with that
trade-mark smile that he carried wherever he went, to light up the
lives of those whom he came across. --FN

PS: I somehow didn't recall Alfie as a Lourdes Convent alumni, till
Anu mentioned it. Now it strikes me that he was with Ralph, Nobbie and
others... and probably also part of the Snow White And The Seven
Dwarfs play. Can we alumni think of instituting a scholarship in his
name at the Convent? A nice way of paying tribute to those not with
us, and also encouraging those who are yet to come.
