Hi SaligaoNetters

Hope you all are enjoying the weekend! We've just had a relaxed one & are back at the grindstone today.

Harking back to the above-mentioned subject wherein Rico & I queried the same - guess I'm satisfied with information I obtained on checking from my end - makes sense to me even though I'm no Engineer but "proof of the pudding is in the eating"! Umm! will be in the eating - future!!!

Apparently the job was to be done in "previous years" & concerned Saliganvkars have signed the petition (perhaps this is not the right terminology). I have nothing to go by as it was sometime back & I cant recall anything being written on this Net since I joined it in Nov.2002.

Anyway, Rico you now have your query answered here -

It was decided to build this "Retaining Wall" to ensure that part of the road or side of the road is not washed away into the field with the force of the water. As to whether "all" the water will flow into the fields during the heaviest monsoon rains, time will tell - wont it?

The same wall would serve as a good place to sit during the rainy season & enjoy the beautiful scenery around - picture various shades of green (fields), the trees on the Bander & the picturesque red tiled houses of the Vaz's & Joe Cordeiro. Dont forget blue skies (or grey as the case may be). And with all this beauty around him, perhaps Rico will have his thoughts gushing out as quickly & as forcefully as the water will flow into the fields, & he will find his pen flying over the pages (oops! should it be fingers flying over the keys of the laptop?) he has to submit to catch the printing press!

Have a good day & a relaxed weekend!

Ta Ra
Annette
