Hi SaligaoNetters,
Tempers are running high eh? Elections around the corner, irritation par
excellence....take a break Albert, irritation leads to stress & stress leads
to various ailments - physical & mental.
From: "Albert Desouza" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Some people in the respective constituency do not seem to understand the
harm that is done to the constituency when they vote useless people to
power. Goa on the whole has been neglected because every election we the
voters become drunk to our emotions. Those who preach about voting for
corrupt people tend to benefit for their personal beings. People who have
helped the politicians to get into power time imemorial have built palaces
for themselves but on the other side many hve not lived to enter into the
palaces.Religion and politics should not be mixed. Soon the result of
election will be out and openly one will know the mental capacity of our
voters. If same people who have let our fields be covered with mud and have
allowed concrete pillars to erupt from the soil just under the nose, those
who have allowed concrete terraces to float out from forests those who have
bought land to gamble in future, those who have roamed in tinted cars if
allowed to be elected this time then it will clearly show the low standard
of our masses. The masses who show big talks in the market places, and in
banks know practically nothing as who should be elected. Hinduvata etc etc
is the talk of uneducated as we all know those who have murdered christs
everyday have minted crores of rupees intheir homes, and are seen roaming in
cars costing several lakhs whereas they can least afford a cycle and these
blood suckers do not want certain people to rule Goa for fear that they
might ask for CBI probe or income tax raid into their assests which are
unaccountable. The sooner we keep our religion to our self and take a walk
on the roads which are not safe, the education which will not even make us
cooks and butlers the fields which will produce red and grey mud,
Yeh, Albert has a point.... I'm glad he used the word "some", but as I said
before, things will never change like we want them to, overnight or even at
the next elections in 5 years time??? Wheels grind slowly..... blah blah!!!
yet we will call ourselves sucegad and will remain sucegad.
Once again Albert uses the same word susegaad but it is not applicable to
all, this has been proved time & again. Perhaps it is just naivety on the
part of some people who (to quote a relative of mine who is as irritated as
Albert is) "are taken for this ride, time and again, with numerous false
promises, only to be dropped like hot coals even before the dust has
settled." I have "done" with all that, I dont believe a word as have been
through that circus at least twice which was once too many.
Who has to check whether your name is there or not? you. You have your
consumer cell, they >should have voiced the error in the rolls?
Of course! that is exactly what is being done & has been done by the hordes
of people seen waiting in queues at the Mamladar's office, & all in good
time before 8th May. It is the Govt. machinery (at whatever level) that is
responsible for getting the names off the rolls (names which were on the
rolls for last 40 years) & re-registering them - & this is where the problem
lies. Follow up done after filling in the form for re-registering - reply
was "forms sent to Panjim, will be ready "...but you & I know well that this
will not be. It is not the voter who is to be blamed, nor the Consumer Cell
& there is definitely nothing "susegaad" about the entire circus.
To all who will be exercising their right to vote next week.... all the
best! & do keep your head on your shoulders or rather, your
thumb/finger/nib/stamp/key on the right emblem/ picture / name
.....whatever.
Ta ra
Annette
