Saligao Institute (Arrarim) sent me a copy of an appeal addressed "to all members of the Saligao Institute and Saligaokars at large", announcing of plans by the managing committee to upgrade its existing sports facilities within the SI premises. The plan is to rebuild the existing court as a multipurpose open air court "which will allow our youth and not so young to follow their dreams of excelling in basketball, badminton, volleyball, six-a-side football, throwball, etc"
A note signed by Jorge Carvalho, Asha Lobo and Elsa Souza said the estimated cost of the project is around Rs 200,000 (US$5000 approx). Contributions have been sought from members and those from Saligao to make tis project a success. Contributions can be sent to the Saligao Institute Savings Account No 67 with the Bank of India, Saligao, Bardez, Goa 403511. Cheques can be addressed to The Saligao Institute, Arrarim, Saligao 403511 Goa, says the statement.
