Well begun is half done - your Africa Book is well on the way! I think this is as good a piece of nostalgia as you are likely to get. And you've probably whetted the appetites of others who'll be aching to wag their tongues at you. All the best. Incidentally there were lots of ex-Africanders in Moira during the 70's. I guess in other parts of Goa too. I do think they added something to Goan life here. One area in which they excelled was sports.Moira itself had Elma D'Cunha who was a champion player in table tennis, badminton, athletics and hockey. Her sister Eva too was a good athlete. I think their whole family was very talented in sports. Their father Sebastian, who was affectionately called Nouro Bostiao was supposed to be a champ in badminton in Africa, was it Kenya? And their brothers Edmund and Edgar were great cricketers. Then there was Loretta D'Souza who played hockey and represented India at the 1980 Moscow Olympics where the team won the gold medal.Her father Joseph teacher used to say that Moidekars and Saligaokars were the 'pioneers' in Africa. I don't know how far that was true.
