Fr. Nascimento Mascarenhas is set to release his fourth book entitled ' Follow
Me' on 30th January 2008, at 4.30 p.m. at the J.M.J. Hospital Hall, behind
Clergy Home, Porvorim.
The book will be released at the hands of Most Rev. Filipe Neri Ferrao, the
Archbishop of Goa and Daman. Fr. Francisco Caldeira, Director of Pastoral
Institute, Pius the Tenth, Old Goa, and Rev Fr. Wilson Almeida, the Director of
Clergy Home Porvorim, together with Fr. Thomas Lobo, Dean, and Rev. Fr. Amandio
Valadares, the Epioscopal Vicar of North Zone will be the Guests of Honour.
The book "Follow Me" deals in two chapters, regarding the arrival of the
Franciscans in Bardez, and their evangelisation of entire Bardez Taluka. The
second part of the book deals with the parish priests of the parishes of
Bardez taluka.
The book has a foreword by Fr. Francisco Caldeira, Editor of the Pastoral
Bulletin 'Renovacao'. Senior journalist Joel D'Souza has profiled the author
and highlighted his works and achievements. The book is an effort in compiling
the work of unsung heroes and is dedicated to Most Rev.Filipe Neri Ferrao,
Archbishop of Goa and Daman and Patriarch of the East Indies.
The book contains both old and new black and white photographs of the churches
in Bardez and the front cover design is by yet another writer-journalist Pio
Esteves of Agacaim.
