Thanks,

I found that there had been a copy of version 2 on that system at one
time, which would explain this.

It means that within the registry there is an indication that there was
an
installation of Servers Alive on that system and that the host file
(file
with all settings) was/is located at C:\Program Files\Salive\alive.txt
During the new install we make a backup copy of it, and this seems to
fail
since the file isn't on the system.
A quick bypass is to create an empty file in C:\Program
Files\Salive\alive.txt
Other quick bypass is to delete
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DBU Consulting\Servers
Alive\StartUp\HostFile

And you did one of the two rerun the install.

Install of Servers Alive 3.2.1087 fails on a new system. In the install
log is the message

"The file C:\Program Files\Salive\alive.txt could not be opened."

Tried to check the mailing list archive to see if this had already been
reported, but got an "Error Occurred While Processing Request" message.

Thanks.
