I had the same problem. But after configurering esmtp (under setup>advanced: use esmtp 
authentication.)with Username: domain\username password: password

For ms exchange server: At the configuration of the internet mail service
you can specify hosts that can route (smtp-)mail. (internet mail service,
routing, button routing restrictions -> add your sa-host). You have to
restart the internet mail service.
Forwarding with outlook must work without this changes.
