Subject: [SA-list] Servers Alive v3.3 released

Dear user of Servers Alive,

We're happy to announce the latest release of Servers Alive (v3.3)
With this new release Servers Alive is the first network monitor to
embrace the new internet protocol (IPv6). Servers Alive now includes
a new IPv6 compatible DNS test. Servers Alive can check if you're
IPv6 enabled DNS server responds correctly to IPv6 DNS requests. To
be 100% correct, we do an IPv6 DNS request over IPv4, the default
request is a request for an AAAA record. An AAAA record is like an A
record in IPv4.

We used this same technique to check if the internet is ready for
IPv6. The results can be found on http://ipv6.woodstone.nu/ipv6

The new things in v3.3:
        * DNS IPv6 check
        * Oracle database check now works with the Oracle 9i client too
        * quick restore of the tray-icon (typically after a crash of
Explorer or when you logon)
        * new HTML template tags (<sa_stats_downtime>,
<sa_stats_maintenancetime> and <sa_stats_nondowntime>)
        * AuthenticationErrorIgnoreList to ignore some specific
authentication errors (this doesn't guarantee that the check will
however be possible)

Fixes:
        * edit of Netware checks no longer crashes
        * ping of hostnames that started with a number
        * several situations were SA could crash were solved
        * in some very rare situations the URL check reported false downs
(combinations of HTTPS/HTTP with and without proxy)

You can download it from http://www.woodstone.nu/salive/download.asp

If you already own a v3 registration code, don't worry it will work
on v3.2
If you're still running an older version of Servers Alive you can
upgrade to v3.2 via:
        http://www.woodstone.nu/salive/purchase.asp
(Cost of this upgrade is $45 USD)

Sunbelt Software together with W2KNews nominated Servers Alive for
the W2KNews 2002 Target Awards. If you think we should win the award,
then you should vote for us....you can vote for Servers Alive on http:
