I was wondering if anyone on here could provide some recommendations of the basic things one should be checking on a server. Right now I'm only checking for Free Space < 10% on the hard drives. I have Servers Alive installed on our Web Server running IIS and our SQL Server running Microsoft SQL Server 7.0. I know over time I'd come up with plenty of things to check over time but I'm basically being asked to anticipate what is going to happen on our servers in the future. I guess I'm just looking for a basic core set of things that most Server Administrators like to monitor. Your suggestions are appreciated.
