That very much depends on whether you are talking about the DOMAIN
Administrator username or the LOCAL MACHINE Administrator account which you
haven't specified... If the former, in theory yes, but not necessarily
guaranteed. If the latter, most likely no unless you have the local admin
accounts names and passwords on the boxes the same and want to rely on
pass-thru which is not a very sound policy.

Hi, Kevin,
I have Servers Alive configured with 10 checks total. 8 of the checks are
checking the local machine and 2 are checking a remote machine. All of the
checks are configured with the Administrator username and password. Even
if it has issues with the remote checks shouldn't it be able to handle
checking the local machine with the Administrator Username and Password?

When you run SA as an application it uses the logged in credentials. When
it runs as a service it runs as System. Make sure the checks have an
account and password that has sufficient permissions to access the other
machines/services.

Hello, All,
I've been investigating Servers Alive for a few weeks now to see if it
meets our monitoring needs. During this time I've been running it as a
regular program from the desktop. I would like to stop running it from
the desktop and start running it as a service. I see that during the
installation Servers Alive configured itself as a service which is
currently set to Manual startup. When I stop Servers Alive on the
desktop and start the appropriate service I start getting all sorts of
complaints from Servers Alive regarding most/all of the different checks
that I have setup even though it doesn't seem to flag any of these checks
when it's running as a desktop program.
Is there something special that I have to when running Servers Alive as a
service which I don't have to do when it's running as a regular program?
The checks that I am currently using cover an assortment of things.
There are 2 Disk Space checks, 4 NT Service checks 1 Ping check, 2 Port
checks and 1 URL check. They all have no complaints when the program is
running from the desktop and yet all of the checks seem to be failing
when it runs as a service.
Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated.
