The HTML pages are generated at the end of a cycle. Before generating them we updated the "statistics" (for the application), and thus can give the correct number of up/down/maintenance entries. The mail (alert) is send right after a check, at that time the stats aren't update and would give the results of the previous cycle, that's why we didn't provide any vars for it to use within the mails.
