Thanks Kevin I will look at those sites. I am confused by the ability to send traps and monitoring OID. I understand that SA 4 will be able to accept traps – how would you configure a monitor for this if you don’t use the OID? Is there a method that I missed in the SA screens?

Go to http://www.wtcs.org/snmp4tpc/, browse through the info and get a copy of GetIf. This will let you walk the SNMP tree for your devices. There are two sites I use to get SNMP info - http://www.somix.com/support/mib_resources.php and http://www.mibdepot.com/index.shtml.
Once you have the OID you want to monitor use Getif to find it and whether or not it has a value. Not all will actually return values. BackupExec, at least the last version I looked at, only supports sending traps not monitoring via OID.
