The template as such did a sort by status, something SA v3 did by
default.
SA v3 didn't do a sort by hostID at all.
In v4 the template will always be a sort by group (plus the sort option
you
give within the template).
<sa_report sort=status,hostid>
will result is a sort by
group,status,hostid
(in v4)
dirk.

I understand what you are saying. The template sorts by "status". I
don't disagree; it's just that in v3, I sorted the checks by hostID,
then the template sorted by status, so in fact, I was getting
double-sorting; which was good... How can I reproduce that in v4? if
not, I'll just have to sort by "hostid" to get what I want and will
have
to scroll to see status?

I had it in v3 where it would sort on status AND hostid... this worked
for a long time...

The template you send me has
<sa_report sort=status>
so it does a sort by status and not by hostid

if you're running v4 and have at least one group, then that's the file
used
to store the groups definition...that's why I can't believe it...and
don't
understand why you don't have it.

Goto the correct directoy (in which you have the SERVERSALIVE.EXE
file)
and
do this via a command prompt and do a
dir gro*.*
Don't do it via the search of the os

that's the thing though, 106900531 AND 106900801 are dependent on
10690000, but only 106900801 is sorted correctly in that group.
.. and, there are many many other groups.. they're all sorted right,
it's just the new entrie(s) that do weird stuff...

I bet you're using groups now. It's probably sorting by group.
