Subject: [SA-list] Problems with Servers Alive v4 & Windows 2000 Pro with SP3

Hi all,

I've got a bit of a problem running Servers Alive on a Windows 2000 Pro box. We have just installed a fresh build of Windows 2000 Pro with SP3 on a desktop PC and have installed Servers Alive v4 (we have tried both the v4.0.1376 release and the latest beta version). The installation appears to go fine and after the reboot post-installation we simply try to launch Servers Alive v4 from the Start Menu (I have made sure it is not running as a service - that doesn't work either). When we do this nothing appears on the screen but a quick look at Task Manager indicates that a "serversalive.ex" process is utilising 40% - 60% of CPU time and slowly but continuously consumes system memory. I have left this for over an hour and still nothing appears on the screen and the system resources become completely used up by the "serversalive.ex" process and the system eventually grinds to a complete halt.

Has anyone else had this issue before? And if so, is there any solution to it?

Thanks in advance,

Neil Johnson
